We do not necessarily avoid differences of opinion, but when they arise, we will be mindful of the distinction given in Pirke Avot chapter 5, Mishnah 17: the controversy that is legitimate is about a difference in ideas, the controversy that is not legitimate is personal, one will versus another. We will not honor the latter, we tolerate the former as the differences among intelligent adults who respect each other's opinion.
Any violation of the above principles will be grounds to remove the privilege of communication through the Neve Shalom listservs.
